Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has said that the new national carrier is expected to carter for millions of travellers in Africa.
Sirika said this while addressing State House correspondent’s at the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.
He added that the new national carrier would commence operation in the first quarter of 2022.
According to him, the private sector-run airline will be in operation by early 2022, with possibly cheaper rates.
Sirika said the Coronavirus Disease forced postponement of the establishment of the national carrier, initially planned for the end of 2021.
He added that the ministry would return to the council in two weeks to submit a memo with an outline business case for council’s approval.
