Apple is considering making a new rugged watch ideal for extreme sports.
According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the watch will come with a rugged case for athletes, hikers and the terminally clumsy.
He added that previous watches didn’t come with a strong glass and, if the ruggedised version happens, it could switch to a tougher display cover.
The sportier watch, which is said to be at the Explorer edition, will have the same functionality inside, same features and apps as the regular watch, but with a different external look.
The launch may be anytime from now to December 2022.
Gurman, however, said, “The idea could be dropped and the aluminum watch with an optional rubberised case might be deemed just as effective, rather than a whole separate product line.”
