Buhari approves panel to probe NPA, Usman

After suspending Hadiza Usman, yesterday, as managing director of Nigerian Ports Authority, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the setting up of a panel to investigate the management of NPA under Usman.

According to a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), Garba Shehu, the approval was granted sequel to the recommendation of the Ministry of Transportation.

The panel, according to the statement, is to be headed by the director, maritime services of the ministry, while the deputy director, legal of the ministry will serve as secretary.

“Other members of the panel will be appointed by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi,” it added.

The President had approved the recommendation of Mohammed Koko to act as MD of NPA while the probe lasts.
