The Nigeria Customs Service, on Monday, said it collected N799bn in revenue between January and May this year.
The Public Relations Officer of the NCS, Mr Joseph Attah, disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Abuja.
According to Attah, the revenue was higher compared with what was realised in the same period in 2020, adding that there is “a positive difference of N226.1bn.”
According to him, the increasing inclination of officers and men to put national interest above selfish interests is responsible for the improvement in revenue.
He added other factors to include “Stakeholders sensitisation, increasing level of compliance from stakeholders and improved working relations with the National Assembly.”
