FG suspends AZMAN Air over safety issues

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, on Tuesday, suspended Azman Air over safety issues.

Financial Street gathered that the decision to suspend the airline was taken at a management meeting of NCAA on Monday after one of the company’s plane recorded another second tyre burst in a month.

Our correspondent was informed that an Azman Air from Kaduna to Murtala Muhammad airport in Lagos had a landing gear problem.

The aviation regulatory agency faulted the pilot that flew the aircraft from Kaduna for continuing with the journey despite a terrible sound after takeoff.

The NCAA DG, Captain Musa Shuiabu Nuhu, after the meeting on Monday, directed a letter be written to the airline suspending its operation.

A Boeing 737-500 aircraft belonging to AZMAN Air had a burst tyre on landing at the runway of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport terminal in Lagos on February 16, 2021.
