N165bn scam: APC hails Buhari for probing NPA

The probe of the Nigeria Ports Authority is proof of President Muhammadu Buhari’s belief in transparency, good governance and adherence to the rules in public service, the ruling All Progressives Congress said on Tuesday.

NPA, under the suspended Managing Director, Hadiza Usman, is under probe for alleged theft of N165bn through award of contracts.

National Secretary of APC’s Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Sen. John Akpanudoedehe, stated that the measure further reinforced Buhari’s zero tolerance for corruption.

The ruling party declared the opposition Peoples Democratic Party unfit to criticise Buhari’s anti-graft campaign in the country.

It also pooh-poohed PDP’s claims against the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, and Usman in connection with the routine administrative inquiry approved by the Federal Government into the activities of NPA.

“Apparently, the PDP is still living in its alternate reality, in which corruption, aided by its family members and cronies, was promoted to statecraft. For the PDP that looted everything in sight during the 16 years it held this country to ransom, it is understandable that it is still unable to understand a routine administrative probe,” Akpanudoedehe claimed.
