NDLEA arrests nine suspected drug traffickers

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested nine suspects for drugs trafficking.

NDLEA Director of Media , Femi Babafemi, stated on Monday that the agency raided some notable eateries in Jos, Plateau State, where freshly-baked cakes laced with Cannabis Sativa were recovered in addition to 48.726 kilogrammes of assorted psychotropic substances.

According to him, some of the places raided included KNL Lounge along Lamingo Road and another branch along Mining Quarters, Rantya Low Cost Estate, as well as Tuscany Lounge on Azaki Ave, all within Jos metropolis.

He added that, so far, five persons had been arrested in connection with the seized drugs in Jos.

The Enugu State Command of the agency equally raided Nsukka and arrested a 28-year-old lady, Oodo Ndidiamaka, with 80.23 grammes of cocaine and 3.81 grammes of Methamphetamine over the weekend.

Also, operatives of the Niger State Command arrested a 24-year-old 400-level student of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Abel Godwin Idio, for selling two strong variants of Cannabis, Arizona and loud, concealed in textbooks. He was arrested in Gidan Kwano within the campus.

Idio was arrested on Friday, April 30, alongside two other suspected traffickers; Yahaya Joshua and Yahaya Audu.

The duo were arrested the previous day along Mokwa-Jebba road with 32 kilogrammes of Cannabis Sativa.
