Nigerian online publishers postpone media conference

Online Publishers Association of Nigeria has been forced to postpone its 4th Annual New Media Conference billed for April 21, 2020 at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos State.

This is as four new cases of the coronavirus disease were confirmed in the state, which is the media hub of Nigeria.

President of OPAN, Austyn Ogannah, and the General Secretary, Daniel Elombah, stated that the postpone is indefinite.

“The postponement became inevitable because of the coronavirus pandemic and the uncertainties surrounding the nature of the spread of the deadly virus in the country.

“Public health experts have urged social distancing as an effective means of curtailing the spread.

“A new date for the conference will be announced later,” the statement circulated to journalists read in part.

OPAN apologised for any convenience caused by the development.
