No need for panic buying, NNPC tells motorists

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has called on motorists not to engage in panic buying of petrol, as long queues were seen in most filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Monday.

Dr. Kennie Obateru, NNPC’s Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, while assuring of normalcy in the supply of petroleum products, explained that the long queues currently being experienced were due to the curfew imposed in some states because of the EndSARS protests.

Obateru said, “Normalcy is expected to return to the petroleum products supply chain in the next couple of days.

“There is no need for panic buying, rest assured that supply will soon return to the entire country.”
