Amateur photographers have been presented with an opportunity to win £14,000 worth of kit in the Redline Challenge organised by Canon.

The competition, which will be hosted by blogger and photographer, Kai Wong, aims to challenge and push the creative skill of budding photographers.

Canon, Kai, alongside international photographer and multiple Red Bull Illume winner, Lorenz Holder, announced the first theme of the competition as ‘Light in the Dark’.

According to the Sales and Marketing Director, Canon, Central and North Africa, Amina Djouahra, the ‘Light in the Dark’ challenge is all about capturing the relationship between light and shadow, as well as contrast and colour.

The free entry competition will receive submission of images taken from any device, a maximum of 20 new entries per person from March 22 to the May 31, 2021.

A shortlist of 10 finalists will be selected and the winner announced on June 27.

The challenge will go through three rounds of judging by an independent panel of experts and the images will be judged on the following criteria: reflect the challenge, creativity, impact, technical prowess, size, etc.
