Sanwo-Olu vows to make Lagos safer for businesses

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that the government is ready and committed to keep businesses safe and secure in the state.

He made the pledge during a courtesy visit on him at Lagos House, Ikeja by the Ambassador of Czech Republic to Nigeria, Mr. Marek Skolil, and the Deputy Head of Mission, Hana Trousilova.

While noting his administration’s achievements in line with the THEMES developmental plans, Sanwo-Olu stressed that Lagos government’s giant strides in diverse areas like health, transportation and agriculture, would be nothing without the provision of safety for its people.

He stated, “We want to create an economy where foreign partners will not only feel safe and secure in Lagos, but also enjoy ease of doing their businesses.

“Whatever we need to do to make your business safe and secure, we will do it. If you also want us to help you reach out to neighbouring states in term of partnership, we will do it.”

Recounting that Lagos was open for more engagements, the governor told the envoy, “Lagos and Czech Republic will look at areas of business we can carry out together as sub-national. The market is here and Lagos is open for business.”

Skolil, in his response, said he came to discuss business opportunities with business community in the state, as well as look into relocating the country’s embassy from Lagos.

According to the ambassador, Czech Republic enjoys good relationship with Nigeria, particularly in the areas of science and technology, agriculture mechanisation, energy and security, among others.
