The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), has approved the appointment of Balarabe Ilelah, a veteran broadcaster, as the Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, announced the appointment in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday.
Idachaba’s removal comes barely a day after threatening to outlaw online broadcast services and social media platforms that fail to license their operations with NBC.
Sequel to this, four days ago, he directed that broadcast networks nationwide go off Twitter, a report which was also carried by Financial Street.
