Attahiru: Customs boss condoles with Buhari

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd.), has condoled with President Muhammadu Buhari over the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and other military officers who died in the Kaduna plane crash on Friday, May 21, 2021.

Ali, in a statement by the National Public Relations Officer of NCS, Joseph Attah, in Abuja, expressed sadness, on behalf of the service, over the incident.

The customs boss urged the military to remain focused and strong, while not allowing the sad occurrence to dampen their morale.

“The Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (rtd.), has condoled with the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigerian Armed Forces, families and friends of the late Chief of Army Staff, and other military officers and crew, who died in the unfortunate air crash in Kaduna on May 21, 2021.

“The CG, officers and men of the NCS are deeply saddened by the sudden death of these patriotic officers, who were in the course of making peace in the Country,” the PRO stated.

Describing the late COAS as a disciplined military professional with exceptional passion for peace and a strong partner in the ongoing fight against smuggling, Ali prayed for the repose of their souls.

While noting that such tragic incident could dampen the morale of military personnel, the CG urged members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, particularly the Army, to remain strong and focused in the fight against security challenges in the country.
