Cars45 issues disclaimer notice to CEO, co-founder, others

Cars45 says it has issued a disclaimer notice to the chief executive officer, the co-founder and nine other senior executive management employees.

According to a statement posted on Instagram on September 1, 2020, the company said the notice to the general public is about the exit of the aforementioned.

The information, which has been deleted, said the people were no longer with the company.

“They are not authorised to represent the company in any matter whatsoever. Anyone dealing with them on behalf of Cars45 is doing so at his own responsibility,” the post stated.

Financial Street gathered that those affected include Iyamu Mohammed (co-founder), Timitope Oluguonye (former Director of Corporate Services) and Mayokun Fadebiyi (former VP, Commercial).

“One person whose picture did not appear in the post is Etop Ikpe, although his LinkedIn profile confirms that he left his position at the company in July 2020. While Ikpe’s exit appeared to be handled better, the recent exits suggest that something is afoot at Cars45,” the post added.

Cars45 noted that the employees left on their own accord.

Despite the dramatic way it decided to talk about the employees’ exit, the company said the public notice was standard practice.

WeeTracker quotes the company as saying, “The employees left on their own accord and we deemed it fit to inform our customers because we value transparency.

“It was simply our responsibility to let our customers know this change, as they have been known with the business. Without any communication from us, customers might still approach them for business regarding Cars45.

“We thought it best to let our customers know that they are no longer representing Cars45 and the business as a whole.”
