Forwarders plan to cripple Onne port

From all indications, freight forwarders operating at Onne port in River State have concluded plans to shut down the port.

Gormer secretary general of Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria, Chidi Opara, disclosed this in a chat with Financial Street on Tuesday.

According to him, strike is imminent, due to the high handedness of the Nigeria Customs Service officers in that state.

“Freight Forwarders in Onne seaport in Rivers State plan to shut down freight forwarding activities with effect from today (Tuesday) due to alleged high handedness of Customs officials at the Port,” he said.
