Former national secretary of the Association of Registered Freight Forwarders in Nigeria, Mr Chidi Opara, has said that 82 per cent of freight forwarders in the eastern ports are not registered.
Disclosing this to Financial Street on Thursday, Opara also said that 78 per cent of the registered freight forwarders were still owing yearly subscription.
According to him, a lot of practitioners in the east are not aware of the Council for the Registration of Freight Forwarders in Nigeria.
“Thirty-three per cent of practitioners have not heard of CRFFN. Eighty-eight per cent of practitioners, who have heard of CRFFN, do not know what it is all about. Seventy-five per cent of registered freight forwarders think that CRFFN is inefficient,” he said.
