An opening ceremony has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, 2022, the Group Managing Director of Afrinvest West Africa, Mr Ike Chioke, has said.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday through the Principal Consultant, Plexus Media Interlinks, Mr Ozioma Ubabukoh, the event, which will take place at the school, will start at noon.

Chioke, a prince of Obioma Kingdom, embarked on the project to cater for the educational needs of Obioma children and those from neighbouring Abia, Nsude, Amokwe and Udi communities.

“This project seeks to greatly improve the learning condition of pupils in the community and neighbouring towns,” Chioke said.

The rebuilding of CS Obioma, which was founded in 1937, followed the approval of the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board to renovate the dilapidated school building, he noted.

“I undertook to build a new school instead, with support from my friends and indigenes of Obioma.

“The school comprises eight classrooms, a library, an Information and Communication Technology room, an infirmary, staff room, head teacher’s office, and meeting room. In addition, the school has separate toilet facilities for teachers and pupils for each gender,” Chioke stated.

He promised to sustain development of education in Obioma.

“I have established a foundation and a Board of Trustees for the new school under the legal structure of Obioma Central School Education Foundation of which I am the patron,” he added.
