Nigeria deserves peace to achieve sustainable growth – Danbatta

Prof. Umar Danbatta, Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, has sued for peace to ensure the sustenance of socioeconomic development of Nigeria.

According to a statement by Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, Director of Public Affairs at NCC, Danbatta stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.

He said, “Nigeria deserves a long period of peace and stability in order to achieve sustainable growth and development.”

The NCC boss, therefore, urged people to continue to support the federal government’s initiatives toward ensuring peace and stability in the country.

Danbatta, an indigene of Kano, also commended the emirate and Kano people for their unwavering support to the government.

He added that the federal government had come up with various initiatives on youth empowerment, especially through provision of digital skills and literacy.

In response, the emir, while thanking the NCC boss and his entourage for the visit, commended President Muhammadu Buhari, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Ali Pantami and Danbatta for the performance of the information and communication technology industry.

The monarch pledged he would continue to support the government on its developmental initiatives, urging other leaders to do the same to promote peaceful coexistence in the country.
