Stock market sustains positive trend, gains N9bn

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rises by 0.07 per cent to settle at 25,221.87 points from 25,204.60 points on Thursday.

However, investors gained N9bn as Market Capitalisation grew by 0.07per cent to close at N13.158tn from N13.149tn.

An aggregate of 158.62m shares were traded in 3,194 deals valued at N1.75bn

The Market Breadth closed positive, as 20 equities gained against 12 equities that declined in their share prices.

LASACO led other gainers with 10 per cent growth, closing at 33 kobo from 30 kobo.

Champions Breweries, University Press and International Breweries, among other gainers, also grew their share prices by 9.83 per cent, 9.73 per cent and 9.09 per cent respectively.

ABC Transport led the losers’ chat as it shed 6.98 per cent of its share price to close at 40k from the previous close of 43 kobo.

UACN and Unity Bank, among other decliners, also shed their share prices by 5.98 per cent and 3.7 per cent respectively.

Zenith Bank stock traded about 19.08m units of its shares in 339 deals valued at N321.99m, FBN Holdings traded about 17.09m units of its shares in 175 deals valued at N89.45m, while Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 16.15m units of its shares in 268 deals valued at N408.79m.
