UBA awaits CBN’s approval to pay interim dividend

The Board of Directors of United Bank for Africa has approved the payment of interim dividend for the half-year ended June 2020.

In a notification to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, UBA said the approval was given at a meeting of the board on August 13, 2020 where the audited half-year results and reports were looked into.

According to the bank, the payment of the approved interim dividend is subject to Central Bank of Nigeria’s approval.

It stated, “Kindly be advised that the NSE and the investing public would be immediately notified upon receipt of the 2020 audited half year results and reports by the CBN.”

UBA had last year paid an interim dividend of 20 kobo per share and it is expected to pay higher interim dividend or maintain same amount paid this year.
