Union Bank appoints non-executive directors

The Board of Union Bank Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of two non-executive directors into its board.

This was made known in a notice to the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

They are Emeka Anthony Ogbechie to replace Dick Kramer who retired from the board in September 2019.

Ogbechie is currently the chief finance officer of Capital Alliance Nigeria, a position he has held since 2019. He had held positions in several local and international organisations including Equity Bank Kenya Limited; UBA Capital Lagos; Credit Suisse London; Deloitte London; and Ernst & Young, London.

He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds an MBA (Strategy and Finance) from INSEAD.

The bank also announced the appointment of Paul Kokoricha as non-executive director with effect from 28 August 2020, to replace Cyril Odu.

Kokoricha is a partner at African Capital Alliance, a private equity investment management firm. He joined the firm in 2002 as the chief financial officer before making a transition to fund manager role in 2004.

Before joining the organisation, Kokoricha worked with Liberty Bank for eight years as the group head of operations.

He had also worked with Arthur Andersen & Co. He is a director of several companies, including Continental Reinsurance, Bankers Warehouse Limited, Fin Insurance and Swift Networks Limited. He is the chairman of the board of Private Equity and Venture Capital Association of Nigeria.
