Nigeria’s equities market on Tuesday sustained a positive sentiment as Market Capitalisation rose by 1.21 per cent to gain N259.45bn, closing the day trading with N21.75tn.

Also, the Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index gained 1.21 per cent to close at 41,584.94 points.

The year-to-date gain of the NSE ASI jumped to 3.26 per cent, on the back of 32 gainers to 19 losers.

“Specifically, we saw investors reacted to the positive nine million 2020 results of Flourmills; hence its share price rose by 6.25 per cent,” analysts at Cowry Asset Management said.

Large-cap stocks such as Airtel Africa Plc, MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, and Lafarge Africa Plc enjoyed investors’ patronage as their share prices increased.

Of the five indices tracked in the domestic market, three closed in green, the NSE Insurance, NSE Consumer Goods, and NSE Industrial which climbed by 0.40 per cent, 0.54 per cent and 0.25 per cent respectively.

Conversely, the NSE Banking and NSE Oil/Gas moderated by 0.14 per cent and 5.31 per cent.

The day’s trading activity in the market was upbeat as total deals, volume, and value of stocks traded rose.

The total volume of trades rose by 40.41 per cent to 0.46bn units, valued at N5.56bn, and exchanged in 5,990 deals.
